We have to be realistic. It’s easier to say things with hindsight, but it’s not so straightforward.
Unfortunately, its pretty straightforward. Your Town Councils mismanaged the funds which was in the first place PUBLIC funds, and collected from S&C charges that kept rising despite having such a huge reserve. How complicated is it?
It wouldn’t be hindsight, if the Town Councils came clean and published full transparent reports annually that described exactly where every cent went to. That would leave nobody with any doubt of the Town Councils’ competence, or lack of for that matter.
It wouldn’t be hindsight, if the Town Councils did not attempt to gamble or strategically invest, or diversify whatever bullshit you call it, and then not admit to their mistakes, and give many different excuses.
Refusing to admit to your mistakes is already bad enough. Arrogance just adds the icing to the cake. Do remember, we don’t owe you anything and we don’t have to be thankful. The Singaporean citizens don’t owe you anything. You are being PAID for whatever work you do or didn’t do. You should be the one being thankful that you are not yet dismissed from being so incompetent AND arrogant.
Hindsight is always perfect. Always. Your job as a politician is to be answerable to the people who have the benefit of hindsight, something that you don’t have the luxury to have in your job. Such is the job description of being a politician. If you have issues with that, you are always free to quit.
Do not attempt to belittle people or suggest that they are stupid by saying “its easier to say things with hindsight”.
Why?
Because its always easier to lose money when its not yours.

Its also about the arrogance plus the lack of disclosure plus not admitting their mistakes when they are staring into their faces.

“Because its always easier to lose money when its not yours.”
You hit the main crux of the problem. I don’t think the reason why everyone is ticked with the town councils is about them not admitting their mistakes and saying things on hindsight.
Its the very fact that it’s their money being lost, not the town council’s.

Typical MIWs…div 1 but cannot explain
To a question by opposition MP Low Thia Khiang (Hougang) on whether the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation (GIC) uses funds from the CPF funds to invest, Dr Ng said: ‘The answer is no.’
Later, he rose to add: ‘The relationship is not so simple.’
